Countless trails, North Shore gnar and tales of legendary rides
Digger—aka Todd Fiander—is one of the original trail builders that gave Vancouver's North Shore its legendary status in the mountain biking world. The North Shore Extreme video series launched late 1997 and introduced the world to the amazing trail, features, and riders of the Shore. This is his online store.
“Instead of riding down the road, we found a trail. This was the only trail that was up there, so we rode down it and then made a little short cut over something we couldn’t ride over and I thought, Oh, that’s cool—now we can ride down the whole way.” —Digger
In 1997, Digger was part of the group that spearheaded the formation of the North Shore Mountain Bike Association. Formed to maintain and build sustainable trails for all on the North Shore, the NSMBA is now a 2000+ member organization, with members from all trail user groups—not just mountain bikers. Todd continues to trail build for the NSMBA, and, despite having two knee replacements, is out almost daily working on the trails. How this site started
In 2019, Digger approached Morgan Mallett (Design + Conquer) and Corey Brennan (ELEVATE Design) to help him sell Digger Know Fear merchandise. As design nerds, mountain bikers, and long-time trail building volunteers, we were excited and honoured that he wanted us to work with him on his brand. All of the products sold on the site have been approved by Digger, and we work closely with him to create designs that bring his love of trail building and the mountain bike community to life.
